Physics is one of the most important subjects. Every year, thousands of students are opting for physics as their main subject as they want to specialize in it. Before actually starting a career, the student has to face a big challenge. This challenge is of selecting the branch of physics. There are many branches in Physics. One can go for Astrophysics but may later find interest in Acoustics. Here is some information about the various branches of physics.

o Astrophysics: It is a branch of astronomy concerned with the study of the physical and chemical properties of material objects which are situated outside the earth.

o Cosmology: It is a branch of astronomy focusing on the study of the origin, structure, and evolution of space and time of the physical universe.

o Electricity: It is the study of the behaviour of electric charges and the fields they create in their surrounding space.

o Fluid Mechanics: It is the study of the properties and behaviour of matter in fluid state.

o Magnetism: The study of the behaviour of physical systems in terms of their position in space, under the action of external forces which may be equal of different from zero.

o Plasma Physics: It is the study of the structure and properties of materials in plasma phase.

Apart from all these branches there are many other branches like Acoustics, Quantum Physics, Space Physics, etc. The student who wants to make his career in physics has to carefully decide on the branch he wants to carry ahead.
