Do You Think I Can Handle the AP Biology?

Hi, I’m the who got a 94 in the Biology Honor. I am going to take the AP Biology next year. I know that my grade is low to take an AP Biology but I’m planning to master the textbook along with Barron, Cliffnotes, and 5 steps to a 5 AP Biology during the summer vacation. If I master these materials during the summer vacation, do you think I can handle the AP Biology and further score 98~100?

Thank you!

Yeah I agree with Tara a 94 is really good. I’m currently a sophomore going to junior next year and i’m going to take Ap Biology. This year i took PreAp Biology and i founded it really interesting and fun. I mean if you found Biology really fun, interesting and seems like easy for you from your grade, you should take it. I mean colleges love to see that you have challenged your self through out high school and especially that really early in the school. yeah .. i mean being a sophomore and already taking Ap Biology it is really good. But again don’t overload yourself with a lot of Ap courses. Yes, and by doing some work, reading before you take the class will be rather good because then you will be really prepared. So do it, I personally encourage you to take Ap Biology. "You can do it! I mean you will be able to handle it :)

    — Plus I mean If you need help you could keep in touch with me and we can always help each other with Ap Biology ;) . Trust me lol probably you will be like does this guy get good grades, well if you consider a 99 good and a 97 avg. then yeah lol :) So just keep in touch ok. And go for it !

Yes. Congrats on being interested in Biology.

You should definitely get Barron’s AP Bio flash cards
I am going into my 12th grade year and I plan on taking the exam in senior year
My brother used the flash cards and he scored a perfect 5
    you should definitely get them
    good luck :)

94 is not a low grade…don’t be too hard on yourself. Yes, I think you will be able master AP biology even without the extra materials over the summer, but with them you should really excel. :)

AP classes are always a challenge, but if you enjoy the subject and you know you can pick it up easily, its not usually hard. It’s just more work… Just keep in mind that some nights you will have multiple hours of homework. Many times the extra work is what gets to people, not the learning. You just have to be willing to spend extra time and work for this class.

Also keep in mind that AP classes you don’t usually need an A. Colleges will look more at the fact that you took the class than your grade. People who take lots of AP classes and got all C’s are more likely to get into their school of choice than people who didn’t take AP classes but got A’s in their other classes.

I know by hand that AP BIo is hard because the people that have it are literally either failing or barely passing. But seeing your outstanding grade I think that you can handle it — maybe not in the 98-100 percentile range since you only got a 94% on the honor bio but maybe a low A.
