How did the use of microscopes contribute to the understanding of Cell Biology?
I would like to know how microscopy made contributions to our modern day understanding of Cell Biology, as this has confused me for a while. I am studying A level Biology, so could all answers be at AS/A2 level. Many thanks!!
The use of microscopes enabled microorganisms and single cells to be visualized for the first time ever. For cell biology, the invention of the microscope was as important, if not more, as the invention of the telescope to the study of astronomy.
