How do college core classes work, and is physics one of them?

I want to do pre-med, so i was thinking of taking AP Bio in high school. Yet, now that i think about it, is AP phyics a required class in many colelges, and for pre-med? cause if so, wouldnt it make sense to get out of the way classes i dont like, then to take the ones i do in college? so, is physics usually a required class?
wait. is physics AP harder than intro physics in college?

You definitely need to take physics if you’re going into the medical field at most colleges and universities. Typically, high school is easier than the college courses because you’re used to the environment, and the way teachers teach and also teachers have certain rules about grading that they must abide by… pretty much in college it’s free reign.
Either way, you learn the same information.
College physics, however, you won’t spend as much time working with it in college than you would in most high schools. I took it as a Monday, Wednesday, Friday class for 1 hour each day…. I was only in that class for 3 hours, and either your high school has block scheduling, or shorter periods. with block scheduling, which is most closely related to college, you are typically in class for an hour and a half each day with only about 4 classes to worry about. the shorter periods are usually around 40 minutes with about 8 classes a day.
Either way, whichever your school has… You will be in class more often in high school than in college. If you really are gung-ho about learning it, take it in high school… if not, and you’re okay with just putting forth minimal effort, take it in college. You get out what you put into it. College Physics can be easy, and it can be hard. It’s hard because the professor will not treat you like a high school teacher because they don’t have to.

And at nearly any college or university, there is general education classes… and you usually need to pick between 2 out of 3…. the main ones are Bio, Chem, and Physics. but check with the school guidance counselors to see what the school offers.

Talk to your college couselor because every school is different.

No, its not very challenging. I recommend you some placement exams to determine which course to begin with. If you were in AP classes during high school, I’m sure you’ll be fine. The best advice I can give you is to talk to your counselor. They are really helpful.
