How long would the earth survive without plants?

If all of the plants on Earth all died, how long would people be able to live? Say we weren’t expecting the event to happen – we didn’t have time to plan ahead.

None of the animals would have any food.

As a result, we would have nothing to eat.

There would be no oxygen or photosynthesis.

We would probably all die shortly.

Well, we’d have a couple of decades worth of oxygen…

Except when the plants die, the little herbivores die too, and then the medium omnivores that eat both, and then the big carnivores die. And then all we’re left with is all the meat we can fit in freezers and the canned stuff. We’d run out of food before we ran out of oxygen.

however long it takes us to run out of air
without trees we cannot produce air
unless they find a way to make it
which i assume they would because we have enough to live for years
