What is the difference between astrophysics & applied physics?

What is the scope in each subject? Can one transition from a Bachelors in astrophysics to a masters in applied physics and vice versa? What are career prospects in each? Are the curriculums and syllabus for each degree similar?

How do I start a career with the space program?

I am in undergraduate school at a liberal arts college, and I love Physics and Math. I really have a desire to work in our space program. I have interests in Astrophysics and Rocket Science. What is the path to a career in space? Any advice for internships, studying abroad, or choice of graduate school? What do I do after graduate school? Where would I have to live? What kind of jobs are available? I always wanted to go into space, but I am not a military man, and working with the program sounds great. Thanks for any advice.

How to get enrolled in graduate astronomy?

I’m currently an undergraduate materials engineering student and I’m very interested in pursuing graduate studies in astrophysics. Is it possible, or am I required to have an undergraduate degree in physics or astronomy? Most of my courses are physics related, and I took linear algebra, differential equations, and vector calculus. However, I didn’t take quantum mechanics (strangely) or relativity. I appreciate all answers, and please if you can give as much details as possible.

How much Chemistry should know a Physics undergrad ,who s interested in Astrophysics and Space technology?

I m a physics undergrad with a major interest in astrophysics and space technology and I m not found of Chemistry at all.The question is for those of you who are at least grad student or higher . What are the best universities for a degree in Astronomy?

I’ve been looking around on different websites and have been getting little help. I’ve gone on visits to different places and they have all given the "well all of our degrees are good" crap. Can anyone give a me a straight forward answer on some universities with good astronomy or astrophysics programs?

What’s the difference between Astronomy and Astrophysics?

Judging by the names, my guess would be:

Astrophysics: Study of the physics and structure of the sky and what it contains (planets, etc).

Astronomy: General study of the sky, planets, etc and general behaviour of it without going too deeply into the physical make-up of it.
