How can some one see space objects which are millions of light years away?

How can some one see space objects which are millions of light years away? As I know, to see an object, we usually send light waves and capture the reflected ones back.

How far can a signal from Earth be received and be understandable?

In other words, can signals be sent from Earth and be receivable by far-away sources like other star systems? We can ‘barely’ hear Voyager 2, not even a light year away but it’s an extremely weak signal. Can ‘Strong’ signals be directed to other solar systems from Earth, or even regular TV systems possibly be overheard from light years away?

Ok we have the universe that contains all the "matter". However, does space exist beyond the edge of the physical universe and if so how much space is there?

If that space is infinite, isn’t it possible that another universe could exist 100 trillion light years away from the edge of our universe?
